Indian multiplex Glitz on expansion blitz

GOA -- Indian multiplex chain Glitz Cinemas is to add 28 screens by March 2013, parent company Stargaze Entertainment announced Wednesday. Stargaze will invest 750 million rupees ($145 million) in the expansion. The total number of screens after the additions will number 50. "Our expansion plans are inline with our vision to deliver international cinematic experience to smaller cities of India which do not have quality cinema infrastructure," said Stargaze managing director Sumant Bhargava. "The market has huge growth potential and with upcoming retail infrastructure in these cities, we hope to sustain our current growth rate and also consolidate our market position by March 2013."
